TAKE IT EASY – WHY A LIGHT YOUTH BIKE IS THE BETTER DECISION
When choosing the right 24-inch bike for children and young people, the weight of the vehicle plays an important role in addition to the right size. The rule is: the lighter, the better. The best way to explain this is with an example:
While the weight of a conventional adult bike is usually around 20 percent of its body weight, this value can be between 40 and 80 percent for a child or young person, depending on the bike model.
A touch too much: A youth or children's bike that is clearly too heavy saps energy, causes frustration and, in the worst case, can even lead to accidents. A light 24-inch bike is easier to climb up the mountain, accelerates better and is more snappy in corners.

Thanks to its classic and timeless design, our ACADEMY GRADE 5 is suitable both as a girls' bike and as a bike for boys. The design of the 24-inch youth bike is perfectly tailored to the ergonomic requirements of kids and teens.

The frames with deep and narrow bottom brackets allow for narrow and child-friendly leg guidance, while short pedal cranks and an upright sitting position ensure that the feet can reach the ground optimally. The ergonomic knee position while driving is guaranteed at all times.

From 20 inches, our light ACADEMY bikes are equipped with Shimano Claris gears. The durable, low-maintenance 8-speed drive offers optimal gear steps, while the easy and intuitive to use DUAL CONTROL gear lever ensures a high level of driving comfort.
Our ACADEMY bikes were developed in cooperation with the German Institute for Orthopedics and Sport (DIOOS) Bielefeld. The aim was to develop a light bike for children and young people that is fun and at the same time meets the necessary orthopedic and ergonomic criteria. Mission? Accomplished!
The result is a light children's and youth bike in the range from 16 to 26 inches with a well thought-out design and a stylish look.
